Cuyahoga Falls City Council is studying a resolution asking state leaders for stronger regulation of auto title lenders. If it is approved, Jeff Wilhite, executive director of Family Promise of Summit County, which provides temporary shelter to homeless families and offers assistance, hopes it will lead to more local governments acting together on the issue. Wilhite is hoping to gather momentum to his agency’s stories of victims of auto title loan practices to share with state legislators.
